So I was looking at the current state of our finances (or lack thereof), and had noticed that there was just enough money left over to justify a photo outing to the Athabasca Sand Dunes in the next few weeks. And of course that’s when the mail arrives with a lovely Alberta Health Care bill in the amount of $244.00. There goes the photo fund.
Typical.
Does anyone have advice on how to burn off bad karma? Apparently I’m carrying around a shitload of it.
The second chapter of my book is written and I finished the detailed outline of the third chapter this morning. I’m going to reward myself for cranking the puppy out by taking the family to Wainwright to catch the Alberta Centennial celebrations this evening. Hey, maybe I’ll even take a picture or two. ;-)
Happy birthday Alberta!
Update…
The event did not live up to the hype. Incredibly long lines for mediocre free food (which we passed on), stinky porta-potties, and a lousy band doing bad covers of old Hank Williams tunes do not a centennial celebration make. We hung around for an hour at most before leaving to visit some friends in the area. We never came back for the fireworks and my camera never even left the bag.
Oh well.
